FIND MOVEMENT
ASANA
The physical practice of yoga comes from a long line of tradition that set the foundation. At InProv Yoga Retreat you will be introduced to various types of Asana (yoga postures), but encouraged and guided to follow your own intuition - always. We place importance on the mind-body connection and moving with compassion for self. InProv retreat leaders are present to guide you in the right (*safe*) direction, but also honour your time and space to explore what works for you.
FIND BREATH
MEDITATION
Each morning, we will begin our day with a meditation session. There are no expectations when it comes to this practice. InProv retreat leaders will provide a secular introduction to several meditative and mindfulness techniques. We will also explore our breath and Pranayama (practice of controlling the breath) here. We aim only to help you reconnect with your breath - the greatest healing tool you already yield.
FIND CONNECTION
MALA GALA
Ok - what IS a "Mala Gala"? It is an evening get-together, unique to InProv Yoga Retreat. We will spend our evening crafting Malas (necklaces that can be used for meditative purposes) and learning about Japa meditation. Of course, it is also a wonderful opportunity to make new connections with fellow retreaters, or learn more about yogic philosophies from your retreat leaders (we're happy to chat!). All this while sipping on a little wine-to-unwind (19+ only). Cheers to a job well done!
FIND A "PEACE" OF
PROVIDENCE
Finally, a huge part of a summer retreat is soaking up the sun, the sand, the sights and sounds surrounding you. Providence Bay on Manitoulin is the perfect, picturesque place. We will be retreating right by the beach that borders Lake Huron (our outdoor classes take place here!), where the sunsets are even more striking in person than in pictures. The Island itself is a combination of quaint local shops and vast forested areas bursting at the seams with life and colour. There's no shortage of things to do on Manitoulin Island when you're off your mat. We recommend Bridal Veil Falls or the Cup and Saucer Trail as a means to reconnect with nature (and there's something just a little more magical about nature on the Island...). For this reason we intend to wrap-up our retreat with a mindful walk along the boardwalk that wraps around Providence Bay, that ends with a short but cathartic "letting go" practice.
*Retreat leaders will then be hanging out for a Q&A session, open to those who would like to "pick our brains" 😊
